Q. For what type of work do I need a Mechanical Permit?A. Furnaces, Heating, Boilers, Air Conditioning, Fire places, Stove and Inserts, Sprinkler Systems, Gas piping, Duct work and ventilation, Kitchen Hoods and Exhaust Systems.

Q. When do I need a plumbing permit?
A. “A plumbing permit is needed on any new plumbing installation or when alterations are made to an existing plumbing system. A master plumber must apply for a permit, or a homeowner of a single family owner occupied dwelling.”
Q. When do I need an Electrical Permit?
A. When adding or modifying existing electrical components includiing low voltage wiring.
Q. When does the plumbing work get inspected?
A. “There are three stages for plumbing inspections: [1] a rough underground (if applicable), [2] a rough inspection of piping in walls and ceilings, and [3] a final inspection when plumbing work is completed, fixtures are connected and hot water is on to the fixtures.”
