The Providence Fire Department protects human life and property from fire, prevents fire by monitoring property owner compliance with safety ordinances, provides "first responder" emergency and services, and educates the community through school and neighborhood programs.

    Q. What is the applicable Fire Code for Providence?
    A. Providence Fire Codes are ruled by the Rhode Island State Fire Code Rules and Regulations. The current State fire Code Rules and Regulations are available at http://www.fsc.ri.gov/
    Q. What are the Plan Review hours?
    A. Fire Prevention Bureau and Fire Alarm plans are accepted on Monday and Tuesdays only between 8:30am and noon. Plan review personnel are available at this time to review the application for completeness to speed the review process.

    Fire Alarm plans that are submitted separately rather than submitted as part of a larger set of plans will be charged a plan review fee. The fee schedule will be the same as the fee schedule for fire prevention plans.
