Councilwoman Josephine DiRuzzo announced the Ward 15 Annual Septemberfest will take place this Saturday, September 6, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Webster Avenue School, 191 Webster Avenue, Providence. The rain date is Sunday, September 7, 2008 same time and location.
This greatly anticipated community event as always will include a free hot dog roast, music, petting zoo, pony rides, face painter, Bozo the clown, Mexican dancers, and craft tables to earn many prizes for their creativity. Also, for the first time, the Y on Wheels (YMCA) will bring their obstacle course for the children. Councilwoman also added Marvelous Marvin the magician and the Home Depot Community Outreach Program. The Providence Fire Department Fire Prevention House will be in attendance for the children to receive safety instruction on evacuate their homes and in the event of a fire. The event will also will include the Providence Police Department and their Mounted Command and Canine Units and Providence Parks Department Zoomobile.
Councilwoman DiRuzzo wants to thank in particular, the Providence Recreation Dept. for all of their help with this Septemberfest and the Public Works Dept. and asks that parents escort their children to Septemberfest as it is a celebration of community and all residents for the 15th ward are invited and welcome to participate.
